Album Notes
Kageyama is a head-on collision of tradition and innovation. The trio’s music is a psychedelic rollercoaster ride of musical colors and exotic textures and instantly transports traditional Japanese music into the cutting-edge modern art scene of Tokyo. Hear the funk of Tokyo’s cosmopolitan cityscape, the multi-layered vibrations of the present and faraway sounds like rock and jazz - all integrated with the Japaneseness of taiko in the music of KAGEYAMA.

Isaku Kageyama - Isaku is one of the principal drummers of premiere taiko ensemble Amanojaku. One of the finest players of his generation, Isaku became the youngest player to win Highest Honors at the Mt. Fuji Odaiko Contest, and became two-time National Odaiko Champion in 2003.

Chris Young - Chris began electrifying the stages of Texas, Florida, and New York as a professional guitarist at the age of 16. Chris has made national tours, recordings, and performances with artists such as jazz great Wynton Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Shirley Bassey, Angie Stone, Richard Bona, and Sadao Watanabe.

Pat Glynn - A multi-talented and extremely versatile musician, Pat has played a wide variety of musical styles such as jazz, Broadway, rock, electronic, and Latin. His professional performing experience include the Walt Disney World Orchestra as well as national and international Broadway tours. Since moving to Tokyo in 2007, Pat has continued performing in a variety of groups, backing performers such as KONISHIKI, Iwasaki Yoshimi, and Simon Cosgrove.
