Spending time with the Kahuna Cowboys was once described as basking in the sun on a tropical isle, listening to the gentle rhythms of Hawaiian steel guitars, and having Gene Autry gallop by, chasing a herd of Texas longhorns.

Although heavily retro 1920's-1930's, the "good time" music played by the Kahuna Cowboys is strictly All-American. From the white sandy beaches of Hawaii, to the Mississippi Delta, the Kahuna Cowboys cover it all: Western Swing, Hawaiian, Jug Band, Blues, Jazz, and of course Cowboy tunes.

While the Kahuna Cowboys are all about having fun, don't let the horseplay fool you. These guys are accomplished musicians that have been performing for over thirty years. Powerful and authentic vocals, backed by some 23 different instruments: Guitars, Ukuleles, Steel Guitars...and regular stuff transformed into music makers with soul: a Gutbucket Bass, Wood Saw, Whiskey Jug, Washboard...and, whistling and gargling...yep, gargling, all mixed up in a resonating spirit of the Islands and Home on the Range style that can only be the Kahuna Cowboys.

The Kahuna Cowboys Jugband is comprised of three colorful characters:

Lester (Dr. B) Broersma:
Guitar, Ukulele, Jug, Harmonica, Washboard, Musical Saw, Vocals

Rustlin' Russ Lewark:
Washtub Bass, Banjo, Fingerpickin' Guitar, Washboard, Vocals

Dana (Double D) Duplan:
Lead Guitar, Electric and Acoustic Hawaiian Guitar, Vocals

The Kahuna Cowboys Jugband's self-titled recording features an eclectic mix of original material, as well as some of our old time favorites. Guaranteed to amuse and entertain, take us for a spin--we think you'll like what you hear!
