Album Notes
KAILUABANDS - This is a compilation album that will take you back to a music
explosion that took place in Kailua, HAWAII during the 1970's. Explosion? Kailua?
Isn't that where the windsurfing championships are held? Hardly a hotbed of music.

Hawaii has a huge local music scene - there is even a category for Hawaiian music
in the Grammies. THIS is different. This is music that took place in Hawaii, but that
was more derived from the HUGE boom in singer-songwriter acoustic music scene
nationally. THIS was the time of Crosby Stills Nash, James Taylor, Paul Simon,
America, Seals and Crofts, Joni Mitchell and more.

Kailuabands features 10 different artists that were playing live music in clubs from
1975-1979. The album tries to recreate the sound of an evening out to hear the bands.
Syster, Stryder, Cooper's Still, Woodrose, Cindy Combs, Stephen Taylor - all performed
in landmarks like "Rosey's Boathouse", Sylvester's, Pirate Bully Hayes Place, the
2nd Floor and the 23rd Step.

If you weren't part of that scene, it might read kind of like.....AND?

And...then check out some of these songs. Listen to:

"Candlelight" from Stryder. Gerry Erwin has a Jim Morrison meets Gordon Lightfoot.

"Breath of Life" - did we just find an un-heard Crosby Stills Nash harmony extravaganza

"500 Miles" - Stephen Taylor hits a sound all his own that does feel like an Austin version
of James Taylor

"Out of Control" - pure 70's rock from Syster

"Mother of My Child" - an orchestrated ballad about love and loss from Woodrose

"Diner Jail" - anybody who has worked in the prison of a Diner as a waiter or waitress
should hear this

--- click through to magic
--- this isn't just for boomers
--- Jack Johnson fans will love this

Kailubands - Back to the 70's
This album brings back memories of the way things use to be in Kailua Oahu in the 70's. It was a great time to grow up in the islands with alot of talented artists. Local Concerts at the Beach Parks and local night clubs. Easy listening I have it on my work computer and listen to everyday.

Best music I've heard in a LONG time
I have been listening to this CD every day for 6 weeks now and I must say I am so impressed with the quality of the music. Every song is unique, the voices are wonderful, the arrangements are perfect. There is something for everyone on this CD. It brought back many memories of a more innocent time of my life, the 70's....I highly recommend getting this CD!!!! Its what my friends are getting for Christmas this year.

It's refreshing to have an album that doesn't have one or two good songs and the rest fillers! The entire album is well produced with great material and talent. There is no junk on this album.

Kailua Bands
The cd is an amazing snapshot of the magic of the day
A Catalyst for loving life long connections Created then
Reinvigorated today a Must for anyone who was there

Wonderful music and wonderful memories
This CD evokes memories of long days at the beach followed by evenings and nights at various clubs in Kailua (and Rosey's in Kane'ohe) listening to great live music from a variety of bands. They did a lot of covers, but an equal number of originals. These are all new compositions by those original bands, but they retain the purity of earlier times. Listening to it I was transported back to those magical times and places. I think anyone who enjoyed CSN&Y, Carol King, James Taylor, Judy Collins, Led Zeppelin's mellower stuff, The Band, etc. will really enjoy this CD. I urge you to give it a listen and then buy yourself a copy! It hasn't come off my CD player since I got it several weeks ago. You're in for a treat!

Sweet and Rocking Low
Amazing to see a group of people reach back to memory lane to offer a beautifully produced reflection of the good old new days. Sweet sounds that cover many musical tastes, from folk thru the blues and on to soft rock, this CD is a pleasure on many different levels. The 'old' jammers have still got the goods!
