Emily Kaitz : Middle Aged Rock & Rollers

Middle-aged folkies are pretty darned cute too, and this album runs the range from sensitive & vulnerable ("I Knew It Wouldn't Feel Like Christmas Day") to degenerate country ("I Just Want To Get Fixed") with some bluegrass, jazz and cajun influences too.

Album Notes

This album, originally a cassette released in 1991 and then re-released in CD format in 1997, has got some of Emily's most-requested songs on it, including the title track, "Your Past Is Gonna Come Back To Haunt You," "I Just Want To Get Fixed" (co-written with Purly Gates & Neal Herr, and possibly the most perverted country song Emily ever recorded, although it is a mere R-rated rather than X-rated song), "Hey Paul Won't You Take Me To The Prom," and "Razorback." While much of this material is humorous, there are also some beautiful poignant gems like "I Knew It Wouldn't Feel Like Christmas Day," "Til You Called Me Tonight," and "Open Mikes," which somehow is both sensitive and funny at the same time and which will appeal to any musician who has ever played an open mike.

Guest musicians who appear on this album include Trout Fishing In America, the late Clifford Scott (saxophone) (he was alive when he recorded the track!), the East Side Flash, Purly Gates, Mike Maddux, Greg Lowry (Mike & Greg both play accordion!) and others.
