REVIEWS

Well done! Worth the listen.

This CD is well produced. The musicianship of all who played is quite high. I checked it out because I am a percussionist who was aware of Kalani's work with drum circles. I enjoyed the drum work and the blend of other sounds. Sort of a New Age Fusion set.

Following the trails of jazz flute into a dense soundworld, rhythmically and harmonically rooted in Afropop worldbeat, Kalani has landed on a striking balance of jazz fusion with world fusion. The moment you start to hear it lean towards jazz and flavors of Pat Metheny, hints of Mickey Hart are followed by echoes of Paul Winter and onto South African vocal qualities. Saddling itself stylistically between two genres and two audiences, it will be both fresh and familiar to both teams. An excellent, memorable 9-track album.

I was browsing musicians who were giving what they got from the sales for charity (as I always support who think to help the others), while I met this artist. If the charity reason would be not enough, then would provide the very high standard of the music I found in this CD. Somehow at half way between jazz, new age and fusion, this music is yet relaxing and powerful, the musicians involved so talented that's an experience I am very happy to have tried. In a few words: highly recommended! Greetings from Italy, Augusto - The Wimshurst's Machine
