ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
English version
Gifted with a delicate yet intense voice, kalika began to sing at a very young age.
She attended various music schools and collaborated with important musicians like Mike Francis, Frank Musker, Mitchel Forman and Faso of Elio e le Storie Tese.
In 1995 she recorded an EP entitled "Mara" for Psycho Records: a pop revisitation of songs of legendary brazilian artist Milton Nascimento, guest of honor in this album.
That same year she performs at the Festival of Sanremo, the most important italian music event, with a song composed for her by Massimo Riva (Vasco Rossi's guitarist) and Davide Civaschi of Elio e le Storie Tese. And the following year she is back to Sanremo with a song written by Mike Francis.
Now kalika returns with a new album: a fresh collection of evocative ballads and luminous songs by this independent Italian singer/songwriter. Pop melodies with a touch of folk. Intimate, simple yet powerful lyrics framed by clean guitar sounds and stirring arrangements.
Performing in the album, among others, are Enrico Cremonesi (Fiorello’s pianist and music director), Daniele Comoglio (saxophonist who has played with Jovanotti, Celentano and Renato Zero), Silvio Masanotti (guitarist who has collaborated with Pacifico, Morandi and Raf) and Faso.
Daniele Comoglio also produced this album with co-producer Silvio Masanotti.
