notes
Paul Kamm & Eleanore MacDonald have been performing Original Contemporary Folk Music together for 20 years. Their music, a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, is graced by their exquisite harmony, compelling songwriting, deceptively simple arrangements and intricate guitar work. Both Paul & Eleanore have "sure and graceful voices but oh, when they meld it's one of those majestic, sinfully rich pleasures-- like a musical S'more..." (Dirty Linen Mag. #40)
They were Kerrville New Folk Winners in 1997 and for 2 consecutive years thereafter Paul was a winner at both the Telluride Troubadour contest and the Rocky Mtn. New Folks Showcase.
They've been applauded for their performances throughout the U.S. as well as overseas and have received a great deal of praise for the lyrical content of their songs and for the singular sound of their vocal blend... a haunting style which weaves their harmonies into a rich tapestry of guitar and storytelling. The quality of their vocal work has also earned them guest appearances on numerous CD's, and in 2001 they were asked to join the "Nina Gerber Band" for this same reason. One of the unexpected bonuses of this was to hear some of Paul and Eleanore's songs played with a handful of the most talented musicians to be found.
Since 1987 they have independently produced 7 albums of original music, receiving critical acclaim from the various trade reviewers. Their newest CD, "Fool's Paradise", features guest appearances by Nina Gerber, Peter Grant (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Keith Allen, Mikail Graham, Rob Bonner and a stunning acapella version of Woody Guthrie's "I've Got to Know".
"I once heard Paul Kamm & Eleanore MacDonald at 4:30 in the morning and was sure I must have been dreaming, I pulled them aside the next day and made them sing again to prove it wasn't a mirage, and they are for real, GREAT writing and harmonies that can fuse your spine..."
ELLIS PAUL
"PAUL KAMM & ELEANORE MAC DONALD have managed to defy the odds by not only putting out a fine independently produced project, but by being responsible for writing and singing some of the best songs I've heard in a long time by any artist on any size label..."
DIRTY LINEN MAGAZINE #40
"Timeless, angelic...sensual, immediate...Paul and Eleanore's voices weave together like colored ribbons blowing in the wind... no gimmicks, good singing and social and ecological awareness."

Great CD with a more folksy/country approach than "Calling on Love"
author: DocGreat folk approach with a bow to country. More earthy and grounded than the highly spiritual longing in "Calling on Love," - pragmatic and even political. Well worth repeated listening.
Love the CD; great guitar, great harmonies, meaningful lyrics.
author: Pamela DonaldsonI would actually give it 4 and a half stars. First heard them as a music break on DemocracyNow, got their names, googled them, (ended up spending hours cruising CD Baby website--great stuff on that website--) bought the album and am lovin it. I have only heard this one CD of theirs so far. Great guitar work, moving harmonies and lyrics........I want more.
great cd
author: Robin HaffnerI bought this CD as a present for a friend, since she loved mine so much, wonderful melodies, appreciate the modern version of anti-war songs.
Lifechanging
author: Bushbehindbars.comHaunting music, creates emotions that were hidden from view. I am spreading the word. This is a must have collection.
An incredible blend of quiet powerful harmony
author: gkunzPaul and Eleanore have obviously been playing and singing together for a long time. Theres is a melding of voices and harmony that moves them into a special realm. I first heard a little snip of their music between news pieces on pacifica radio, searched for them and of course found them here. I instantly fell for the graceful sound and harmonys. I would recommend them quite strongly.
