Album Notes

Kapakahi is a 4-piece band that consists of bass/vocals (Chris Jones), guitar/vocals (Mike Dayao), drums/percussion (Steve Salta), and sax/percussion (Nick Rous). For being together only a year and a half, we have over 20 arranged, original songs.

Our music is a mix of island/reggae/ska/hip-hop/latin...a little bit of everything, but with a sound that is only Kapakahi's. The tunes are catchy and quick to grab the attention of the audience. The music is a representation of what happens when you take four individuals from drastically different musical backgrounds, throw them in a room together, and see what happens. The end product is a unique style of music that hasn’t been heard before.

You can hear us on our website, www.kapakahimusic.com. Alternately, you can hear more songs and see us on www.myspace.com/kapakahi, and www.bandspace.com/kapakahi. Our Electronic Press Kit is at www.sonicbids.com/kapakahi.

This is a great band from the bay area looking breaking through on all levels. The cd reminds me of a mix up of Ozso Motely, Peter Tosh, Funkadelic All Stars, mixed with some Hawaiian jams. Great CD and I would recommend it to everyone. Nice work fellas.
