Album Notes

Kareen King is a Registered Drama Therapist, Keynote speaker, Singer/Songwriter, Puppeteer, and member of the Kansas Arts Commission Arts on Tour Roster. Kareen’s original songs and stories stem from her work with institutionalized elders, having served as Ulyssean Program Director/Activities Supervisor at a skilled nursing facility. She has presented keynotes, concerts, and workshops for various national and state associations including National Association of Drama Therapy, Pioneer Network, Association for Gerontology in Higher Education, Kansas Health Care Association, West Virginia Health Care Association, Florida Health Care Association, Kansas Alzheimer’s Associations, Kansas Governor’s Conference on Aging, Kansas Activity Director Association, Ohio Person-Centered Care Coalition, North Dakota Long Term Care Association, Missouri State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Conference, and more. Her presentations focus on the enrichment needs of human beings, believing that love and belonging and esteem needs are just as basic for some as physiological and safety needs. Her goal is to place institutionalized elders and caregivers on center stage, giving them the applause they deserve. A Standing Ovation for the Golden Generation!

Kareen is married to Jeff King, a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. They are the parents of five children and make their home in Kansas, the land of “Ah’s.”

More information is available on Kareen's blog, www.thegoldenexperience.com, and her website, www.kareenking.com. Kareen can be reached at kking@the goldenexperience.com.
