Album Notes

This album is the first collaboration between husband and wife Karen Ann Hunter (writer/performer) and world renowned session guitarist Steve Hunter (producer).
Karen has performed and written songs since she was 5 years old. Spending many years on the road with bands of all genres’ she has also performed on recording sessions for TV commercials and producers.
Steve and Karen married in 2007 at Beverly Hills County Court and spent their honeymoon at the LA Zoo. They lived in Hollywood before recently settling in Nashville, TN.
‘Empty Spaces’ was Steve’s idea after Karen had stopped both performing and writing. It was with his encouragement that she wrote the first song on the project called ‘Whatever’. It was also his idea to record Karen on a very close microphone making the best of her naturally warm voice.
Karen has two adult children who live in the UK; some of the songs were inspired by her love for them and her parents who now live in Spain.
There are lots of ways that people can identify with Karen’s lyrics; they are both personal and global, whimsical but sometimes painfully reflective and moving.
You can also find video presentations for every track on Youtube.
