These songs are tough, sentimental, giggly, somber - according to her mood of the moment, and who's backing her up. A bit 60's, a bit 70's and a lot original, the result is a completely fleshed-out folk/rock album that continually surprises and delights.

Album Notes

In the early 1990‘s when Karen lived in Champaign, Illinois, she gathered a group of friends to record her debut album at Pogo Studios with producer Mark Rubel. The songs featured are a diverse and retrospective collection of original material. Only 500 copies of the red plastic cassette tape were pressed and most were given away as part of the Peon Queen promo kit. After moving to San Francisco in 1997, Mark mailed Karen the DATs of the original mixes, and the single titled "Pink & Blues" which was recorded for the Mother Jones CD "You Are What You Shoot" in 1995. Karen transferred the DAT to disc, and most recently made the album available on CDBaby.
