Album Notes
After 12 years touring and recording as the lead vocalist and songwriter of Folk By Association, Karen Krajacic embarks on the next phase of her musical career with "The Solace EP", a 6-song album comprised of five new compositions and a special bonus track- the rerecording of "Penny in a Jar", a song she wrote in 1999 which was included on FBA's 2003 self-titled debut.
Performing all of the EP's instrumentation herself (with the exception of the bass, played by Chris Grantz), Karen draws from many musical traditions, embracing elements of folk, rock, country, bluegrass, and jazz. With lyrics steeped in the poetry of love, loss, and hope, "The Solace EP" represents the evolution of a songwriter who has searched to find her own voice as well as a sense of commonality and universal truth.
