Karen has been playing the piano since age 5, studying with three teachers for seven years and then at a local academy. Always, she lent her own personal, original style to what she played and did most of her own musical arrangements. She feels the tones flow through her heart, and time seems to stop when she plays.
In the ensuing years, being involved in the business world, teaching, and pursuing a bachelor and masters degree, Karen continued to play, deepening and clarifying her musical interpretations.
In 1992, when a strong inner urge demanded she spend more time with her music, she began playing professionally. The first of Karen's CDs was released in 2002 and she has been writing original music since 2005.
Most recently, she auditioned and was hired as the musician for the Coptic Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and continues to write and record music.
