CHOSEN AS ONE OF THE TOP TEN "BEST OF 2002" RELEASES FOR THE STATE OF VERMONT BY THE BURLINGTON FREE PRESS!
"One of the prettiest voices to emerge from the folk singer/songwriter clique in some time...among the ranks of the creme de la creme of local songstresses"
-Steve Lemcke, Burlington Free Press
Karen McFeeters graced the folk music scene in Burlington, Vermont a few years ago, and has been impressing audiences with her amazing voice and her heartfelt lyrics ever since. She opened for Carrie Newcomer at the Burlington Coffeehouse in the spring of 2000. "She was outstanding," said Jeff Miller, music director of the Coffeehouse. Since then, McFeeters has been performing in venues throughout Vermont, and has had her original songs featured on Vermont Public Radio.
In August of 2002, McFeeters released her debut album of original tunes titled, "Bachelor Girl." By day, McFeeters is a speech-language pathologist specializing in voice therapy but the opening track of her new CD reflects her heart's true passion...."I Just Want to Sing..." McFeeters is an active member of the Vermont Songwriter's Group and plans to continue making music a larger part of her life.
Steve Lemcke of the Burlington Free Press said, "Paula Cole fans and Joni Mitchell wannabes...should check this one out." And Robert Resnick of Seven Days remarked,"Bachelor Girl is an impressive first effort, and I wouldn't be surprised if Karen McFeeters already has a whole book full of songs waiting to be recorded---something to look forward to."

Beautiful Voice + Great Melodies + Heartfelt Lyrics = Must Have CD
author: Raymond SteinerKaren McFeeter's CD Bachelor Girl is simply awesome. Karen has a beautiful voice and an amazing ability to harmonize. This record is filled with great melodies and heartfelt lyrics. After hearing the first song I Just Want To Sing, I just wanted to listen to the entire CD. It is obvious from the start that Karen loves music and has a wonderful gift. Come Home is filled with beautiful harmonies. Fans of Jonatha Brooke and The Story will appreciate and enjoy this CD. I Don't Know is a catchy upbeat tune of that feeling of falling in love but not really sure. Song after song demonstrates her musical abilities. The Places Of Your Childhood is a song that brought tears to my eyes. I could go on and on, the beautiful soprano juxtaposed against the cello on Can You Hear Me, the awesome fiddle on I Won't Say No, the touching lyrics and a capella vocals on Baby Love, the great title cut...this CD is a must have. Although I really don't like to compare artists, fans of Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Sarah McLachlan will be thrilled to have this CD. I highly recommend this CD and look forward to more visions from Karen in the future.
