Over the last ten years, Karen Mack has established herself as one of the most popular singer/songwriters in many of New York City's top clubs and performance spaces. With her debut album, "Take That," Mack translates her onstage presence and theatricality into a diverse collection of pop/rock originals that highlight her vocal talents, songwriting skills and ability to connect with an audience. In 2001, she was recognized by the Manhattan Association of Clubs, a NYC based organization which represents over 50 clubs and hundreds of performances from music rooms across the country, as the year's Best Pop Vocalist and her original song "I Am Home" was honored as Outstanding Song of the Year by that group, in conjunction with ASCAP. Her varied musical influences are apparent in her style, which meshes a warm jazz/folk sensibility and affinity for richly textured vocal harmony with the intensity of a modern pop/rock sound, creating a truly unique listening experience, whether you're looking for moving ballads or fierce rockers.
