Karen Merchant's new collection of lullabies "Come to the Window" is receiving broad acclaim from a diverse cross-section of consumers, young and old. She moves effortlessly between styles and languages with a voice that is pure, lyrical and touching. Her Celtic/Mediterranean heritage shines through as she glides from an Irish melody to a sultry duet with Latino singer Luiz Simas in the flap of an eyelash. A favorite for parents who want soothing music at bedtime, it is also a unique collection of songs one might bring along to play in the car for relaxation.
Karen holds a BA and MA in Music and received both of her degrees in the piano. She's an active recitalist, teacher, and recording artist who lives in Montclair, NJ. She was also trained as an actress in New York City, where she worked for many years on the stage and in television. Her unique blend of talents come to the fore in "Come to the Window" where her devotion to her art shines through.
