Album Notes
THE HALFWAY TREE is Karl Jannuska’s fourth cd as a leader. The music features the beautiful tones of one of Canada’s most talented vocalists, Sienna Dahlen. A collaboration that began four years ago, the repertoire is entirely comprised of the leader’s original compositions while both Karl and Sienna each contributed lyrics. The music sits at the crossroads between several styles representing Karl’s eclectic tastes all the while remaining melodic and groovy. The band is completed by: Olivier Zanot (alto sax), Nicolas Kummert (tenor sax), Pierre Perchaud (guitars), Tony Paeleman (piano/ Fender Rhodes) & Andrew Downing (5 string cello).
