Album Notes

In the past couple of years, Brooklyn, New York, has grown up - becoming a hip and sophisticated community of proven artistic heavyweights and emerging creative youth. With the completion of their latest EP, "Journals of a Jaded World" KARMACYCLE is taking note of their hometown's renaissance and looking to permanently add their name to Brooklyn's illustrious rock music annals.

Karmacycle was busy in 2002-2003 creating their first recording effort, "Scared". The next two years were spent promoting the album and honing their live show by playing Northeastern colleges, festivals and club venues. Like most rock bands, they had their share of lover's quarrels, scorned women and creative differences. But, if you love rock music, then you know that the drama only makes for great songwriting...as evidenced in their sophmore
effort.

Currently working with Producer/Engineer Bill Klatt (Days of the New) and independent producer Cary Tamura, this collaboration demonstrates a more mature sound; sonically, they've found their niche. "Journals of a Jaded
World" is not a departure from, but rather an evolution of their strengths.
Guitarist Stephen Sannicandro knows the band's forte: "You can expect certain elements from a Karmacycle track: strong melody, intricate drum phrasing, dynamic guitar arrangements and a grooving bass." The new songs also emphasize singer Luke Ambrose's vocal prowess and sentient lyrics. His voice often cries out in empathy and anger, making a strong emotional
connection with fans.

That said, it's no surprise that Karma cycle continues to gain industry attention. In August, they showcased with BMR; the evening's Master of Ceremonies was K-ROC's own Julie Slater. The band has been featured on websites such as Kings of A&R, Myspace, Friendster and Gargageband,
where their new track "Self Destructive Phase" continues to climb the Modern Rock chart, and in early September, garnered the "Track of the Day" award. This fall Karmacycle will play some of Manhattan's most popular festivals: MEANY
FEST, and the EMERGENZA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL, which kicks off December 1st at the legendary rock venue, Arlene's Grocery.
