Album Notes

NOTE: Check out Karmyn's original tracks at www.KarmynTyler.com. Her new song Luv Me So is Number One at the PMN Top 10 chart.

Wanting to showcase the vocal talents of Karmyn Tyler, William E. Johnson set out to produce an album. Mr. Johnson wanted to remind audiences of the beautiful music of the 1930's and 40's...the music his mother played. He succeeded in every way while using the soft, sultry, yet powerful voice of an angel.

Miss Tyler is a former Miss Louisiana and talent winner at Miss America. She is a professional actress/singer and a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity. To find out more about Miss Tyler, please visit her website at www.karmyntyler.com.

Karl Stober, an international freelance columnist and broadcaster, gave this comment about the ablum:

"Seemingly timid at times but with an underlying fire, Ms. Tyler branches out from Broadway to Opera in her execution of song. Mr. Meeks arrangements complement her style never compromising the basics of vocal jazz. Case in point is the melodic tribute to Arthur Schwartz "Dancing in the Dark/Night and Day", a marvelous effort! Ms. Tyler also demonstrates an inferno of passion as she hits the stage with Wildhorn's "Big Time", heavy and strong, powerful performance."

This is no amateur hour singer!
author: Wayne Cook
Karmyn exhibits a masterful mix of abandonment to the artistry and an off the cliff drive to her music that does more than draw you in. This artist propels you into a smokin' hot aural experience! I listened to this CD from end to end, without one single disappointing second. Frankly, I was having a ho hum day, but her music lifted me to emotional exuberance. One of the few CD's I've heard in the last year that I felt is a must have.

A voice of passion, grace, & elegance framed by inspired musical arrangements.
author: Greg Federico
Un vocalist femelle dynamique et extraordinaire de jazz pour le nouveau millénaire! (A dynamic and extraordinary female jazz vocalist for the new millenium!) That is Karmyn Tyler. Let this songstress take you on a memorable musical journey through the 30’s and 40’s and you’ll find yourself wanting to embark again and again. From the soulful “Summertime”, to the sublime “When You Wish Upon A Star”; from the fiery “Big Time”, all the way to the mellifluous “Wait And See”. . .my CD player is on repeat mode when this CD is playing! I truly believe you will feel the same way when you listen. As if her charismatic vocal charms weren’t enough, Ms. Tyler has also teamed with and put on display her perfect musical compliment in Chris Meeks, a masterful and amazing arranger, whose musical genius here serves as the consummate frame for Ms. Tyler’s consistently flawless delivery. Together, they convincingly provide the listener passionate and elegant musical portraits of a simpler time, gone, but not to be forgotten. In summary, Ms. Tyler’s work here represents, in a current sense, a wonderfully bright state of affairs of vocal jazz music, while offering an inspired, artistic nod of reverence to its past. I highly recommend this recording to anyone and everyone who appreciates big band to Broadway and everything in between. This album proves that Ms. Tyler is natural grace embodied, class, sultry soulfulness, and dynamic star quality all rolled into one, and that she is ready to take her place among the elite of today’s pop and jazz vocalists because she is both deserving and deserved.
