On this album, originally released in 2002, you hear the beginnings of Jared Karol's fingerstyle guitar playing. The playing is raw, creative and original . . . and mostly solo. He is accompanied by the extremely talented guitarist Frank Sally on four of the eleven tracks. After listening to Ode to Byerley, the logical progression toward the 2004 release of Live From San Leandro - with much more musical accompaniment and diverse stylings - becomes immediately apparent. This is a must have for any Jared Karol fan.
