Album Notes

This album “Cry of the Gypsy” is all original melodies, full of passion and rhythm. It is very relaxing and wonderful background music for any occasion.
Alejandro Kartal has been playing the haunting chords of the Spanish guitar for more than 30 years. While his education is in classical guitar, he was hypnotized by the Gypsy style of Flamenco guitar, such as “fandangos ”, “seguiriyas ” and “bulerias ”. Flamenco, with it ’s origins in the Andalusia region of southern Spain, which was occupied by the Moors for hundreds of years, combines the power of the Moorish passion, with the starkly beautiful laments of the Gypsies.
Alejandro Kartal was trained in classical and flamenco guitar techniques and is considered a unique type of guitarist, performing a style of Spanish guitar with clean melodies and the strength and passion of traditional Flamenco. He has been compared with the Gypsy Kings, Otmart Liebert, Armik, Strunz and Farah, but his sound is original, combining all kinds of rhythms, such as Mediterranean, Latin-Caribbean, Pop-Rock, Hip-Hop and R&B with his own melodies in the style of Flamenco guitar.
