BIO

In the mountains of Southern Utah where gun wielding survivalists dwell near the red rock desert and new prophets are found on the dusty back roads, singer songwriter Karyn Whittemore has emerged from the desert with a different view.

With influences from artists like Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Liz Phair, and Sarah McLachlan, Karyn's songs are passionate and sometimes a little quirky..... with occasional spiritual to mystical overtones.

Karyn is known for her spell binding ballads in her live performances, and dynamic pop/rock/folk style.

    Karyn Whittemore is sooo Awesome! She is an Amazing singer with a Brilliant voice. Slippery Road is a Great CD...Every song is a Great listen...She puts a smile on my face:) I'm soooooo excited about her music. Karyn has a ton of talent, she will be a Superstar. I can't wait for her future projects...I will always be a fan of hers!

    What an incredibly talented woman, Karen has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, I love every song on her CD.     Actually, I don't know what else to say about this CD but "beautiful". Lovely melodies, sweet voice and great production. "I don't own you" likes to keep stuck in my head for days. And I learned something from this CD: That the English language has adopted our German term Schadenfreude. That's funny.

  • Beautiful, Melodic and Magnificent

    Since the day this CD arrived over a month ago, it has dominated my CD player. Karyn's voice is sweet at all times, and has an upper range that makes my heart flutter. Her lyrics are uniquely clever, and her music is piano goddess material without and never, ever derivative. My favorites are "Does My Heart Show," "Cold," and "Schadenfreude" but there isn't a bad song in the bunch. Absolutely wonderful!
