Best of the Best

I enjoyed the CD start to finish. I'd like to say a bunch of wonderful esoteric things about how his guitar work hammering on suspended second and fourth notes over a basic chord structure really moved me, or how his voice and melody married the words to the music perfectly....but mentioning these details seemed to take away from the fact that EVERY aspect from the CD is fantastic start to finish. Listening to it is a pleasure. David Gray, Paul Westerberg, James Blount , whomever, might consider taking a take a step to one side and make room for Paul. Even though this was recorded in 2002 it rings fresh and I'm certainly glad I made the purchase.

The difference between a group of "songs" and an album of "music" is dependent upon the quality of instrumental, the quality of the voice and most importantly the quality of the "heart" that is put the performance to portray the emotion behind the words. Paul has done an awesome job of producing some 'music' that deserves listening to. I look forward to the next collection.

We first heard Paul's music at a Cuban restaurant in Santa Cruz. We asked our waitperson who just happened to be a friend of the artist. He sent us a copy of his CD and I bought copies and gave them to all my friends. They rave about his music. He reminds me of Jesse Colin Young- a pure, beautiful voice with meaningful lyrics. A great find!.

I have to say, BRAVO! For someone's first CD, Paul has done an excellent job. I especially like two of his more up tempo songs "Pretty" and "Anything".
