Album Notes

Katherine Leese was born and raised in New Zealand. Antipodeans are well-known for hanging out in London, which was something she wanted to avoid. A crazy trip halfway round the world added wild experinces to add to her already formidable portfolio of songs. In Holland, where she has spent the past 5 years, she formed the band Katbite, with bass player Dominc Bellekom and drummer Jeroen. Over the past 4 years the band have built up a set of 27 original songs.

The strongest of these numbers appear on the band's debut album, Vacation, released in August 2005. The band has secured distribution in Holland and New Zealand for this album, which was created using Pro Tools and Reason in a privately owned studio in the Netherlands.

The track Countryside is the first single. The text describes the discovery that Europe is not a land of fairytales anymore, its a place full of pollution, Britney Spears and mundane jobs. This discovered under the influence of a brutal hangover on a cheap bus ride between Manchester and Amsterdam.

Katbite is increasingly active as band, touring New Zealand in early 2005 and extending their circle of gigs around their base, Den Haag, Holland.
