Kate is more Marilyn than Marilyn

Kate Michaels'"Just Marilyn"CD is more than "Just Marilyn." Probably most folks have no idea that Marilyn aspired to develop as a serious singer of standard tunes. She certainly had more talent than the "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" stereotype that lingers with her memory. Kate has captured Marilyn's vocal style and nuances in a manner that would have pleased the late great screen star. With crystal clear diction and a voice dripping with sensuality backed by an excellent group of studio musicians and arrangements mixed with precision, Kate touches the nostalgia and tragedy of this woman who never could shed the burden of her starlet icon stereotype. The final song "After You Get What You Want You Don't Want It," is an appropriate ironic close.
