Kate Sikora is the middle child in a middle class family from a blue-collar suburb in New Jersey. However, there is nothing middling or blue-collared about her music. Much of who she is and what she does is the result of having such a musical and artistic family. Her mother, a beauty in a wildly painted VW bug, caught her father's eye in the 70's. He set out to win her heart by sending her strange and colorful love letters while she was away at college. Like those letters, Kate's songs are like strange and colorful messages to the world. Whether she's comparing herself to a perpetually broken-hearted princess ("Wonderful Princess") or singing an ode to a drag queen ("Venus"), her music is universal and easy to relate to. "Grace in Rotation" has finally arrived after 6 years of writing, performing, dreaming, and working to pay for it! "Grace" has been Kate's mantra from her first breath and the years thus far encompass the "rotation" of experiences, changes, successes and disappointments that shape this music and this artist. It is the first of many musical ventures to come from this talented chanteuse!

Kate is one of the best singer/songwriters I know of. "Grace In Rotation" is one awesome album, from driving upbeat pop to folk with amazing lyrics. I recommend this CD to anyone.

Something Pretty, Something New
author: BANKYX
I've had this CD for a few weeks, and it STAYS in rotation, either in raw disc form or MP3. It's the kind of CD that gets stuck in your head, and you wake up with a line or two (or a riff or two) play in your brain each day. Very awesome, solid album both sonicly and lyrically. Please help support Kate so she can get another album out, because if this debut says anything, it's that she has a lot more to offer.

eclectic mix of strong tunes with a quirky edge!
author: SoupyDuck
From the grungy opening of '10 hours' to the lo-fi close of 'Windows' this record cant fail to please. The strongest tracks for me lie with the acoustic meanderings that take ya places ya only wish were more familiar! Warmed by cello and really nice harmonies, they stand out as quirky and original with great imagery provided not only by the music but the lyrics also! Saying that, the more grungier tunes aren't dated whatsoever and point to bands like My Bloody Valentine and Pixies! All in all you'll be won over by this! Good stuff!
