Soliloquy Deluxe is Kathie Touin’s latest CD release. It is a sparkling collection of solo piano music intertwining timeless much-loved classical favourites with a selection of Kathie’s original pieces.

Soliloquy Deluxe includes Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Clair de Lune by Debussy and music by Satie, Bach, Granados and Chopin.

The original Soliloquy album launched Kathie’s career, receiving enthusiastic reviews. Kathie was praised for her emotive response to the music, a shifting between light to shade, that listeners said brought a depth to the performance.

Soliloquy sold out its first run and Kathie’s original composition, the delicate Silver Song, received airplay as far away as Korea where it was used on tv.

Now Kathie is revisiting the album and Soliloquy becomes Soliloquy Deluxe - re-mastered, with improved sound, bonus tracks and striking new artwork.

The bonus tracks are from the original piano demo that resulted in Kathie’s first recording contract: an alternative recording of Silver Song, two further original compositions by Kathie, and an introspective piece titled A Blade of Grass written by renowned keyboardist Keith Emerson.

An edit that had been placed in one track has been removed, recapturing Kathie’s original intention that the pieces are heard as they were recorded - live and spontaneous, no overdubs, no editing.

The sound is now crystal clear, bringing the listener even closer to Kathie’s delicate, evocative interpretations. It is a CD that invites repeated listening, whether as a gentle background, or personal audio experience.
