Kinderqueen is the latest release from Portland based singer-songwriter and fiddler, Kathryn Claire. Kinderqueen is a family record that features familiar folk favorites such as Turkey in the Straw, The Ants Go Marching and Country Roads, along with foot stomping fiddle tunes and heart warming originals. Kinderqueen is co-produced by Kathryn Claire and Ezra Holbrook. The two wanted to create an album that kids and parents would love to listen to. Thus they chose an eclectic mix of songs and traditional tunes and varied the instrumentation from track to track. The album features musical performances from Ezra Holbrook, Jeff Baxter and Paul Brainard.
Kathryn Claire has been teaching in the Portland area for the past year and has acquired a devoted following of students, parents, friends and fans. It was her students that ultimately inspired her to make Kinderqueen. She has sung and played these songs for many families and children and is thrilled to be able to share them with a wider audience. Kathryn's charismatic stage presence, innate love of children and skill as a musician, performer, and teacher make her live shows a unique and exciting experience.
