Los Angeles recording artist Kathryn Grimm has once again succeeded in putting together a smashing CD. For "GRIMM AGAIN", she's gone back to her roots and recorded a ten-song collection of Electric Blues tunes sure to get even the most hardcore blues fan singing along. Tracks include a sultry, unorthodox ten-bar Blues, "Can't Stop The Train", some smokin' Hendrix-inspired guitar work on "Wishing Well", a breathless vocal performance on "Fallen Angel" and gospel-like back ups on the rockin' "Who'da Thunk" (featuring Marcy Levy of "Lay Down Sally" fame).
This petite, guitar-slinging vocalist migrated from Seattle to Los Angeles where she has defintely made her mark. From playing in punk bands, to earning three degrees in Guitar Performance, Jazz Studies and Commercial Music, she is a well-rounded musician to say the least. And Kathryn has worked with some top players. The legendary Jeff Buckley backed her up on guitar and vocals in her band "Group Therapy." She has worked with Bo Diddley (MGM's "Rockula"), Michael Bolton ("Dance With Me" video) and producer Joe Chicarelli (Etta James, Tori Amos) describes her voice as "amazing".
"GRIMM AGAIN" is sure to take the blues world by storm. Kathryn proves she not only can hold her own as a musician and songwriter, her engineering and producing skills are equally impressive. Recording basic tracks with engineer Dennis Moody (Babyface, Johnny Guitar Watson), Kathryn completed the songs in her own home studio. "I'm so happy to be in charge of my world where I am free to record anything I hear in my head." Recruiting a few star performers such as percussionist Billy Hulting (Lou Rawls) and Randy Wilde (monster bassist and mixer) helped make this CD "a masterpiece."
Kathryn is currently planning a nation-wide tour with her band "KGB" (The Kathryn Grimm Band) to promote the album.

Best Yet
author: Anthony Tripp
I have been a fan of Kathryn ever since I saw her perform last year at the Sawdust festival in Laguna Beach. I disagree with Ellen, I think that this is by far her best CD to date. This CD is not country...it is electric "blues! Modern electric blues. "Can't Stop The Train", and "Fallen Angel" are my favorites. The guitar solo on "Wishing Well" is awesome!! Shades of Eric Gales and Ernie Isley. I also agree with the earlier post, the recording sounds like a big budget studio album. Good job Ms. Grimm. If you have not yet got your hands...or ears... on "Grimm Again" yet, get it now!
