Listening to Storm Song will make you realize how delicate an animal we are, spending most of the time trying to hide inside. It appears it should only be temporary, as the skin just needs to shed. So let it shed.
Listening to Tatto Song for me conjured up so much imagry; a
spine beneath a very thin exterior, revealing it's history, and gracefully finding the right skin.

Luminous offerng comes from Smock

Another luminous offering comes from Kathy Smock with Sweet Nothing. It's as good a rock debut as Mina Mauldin's SuperPsychoticQueen last year, but layered more percussively. No surprise there, as Austin percussive dynamo Courtney Audain produced and arranged the album, yet it's Smock's songs that really shine; she wrote or co-wrote all 12. Standouts include "I'm Falling Down"; "Shoe Song," with its Southern rock feel; and the title track, all of which signal that Smock is something else.

I am reminded that music is that little knudge to allow you to feel something. We all have peeks and valleys, colors and temperaments and this artists not only knows them well, she helps you strip away the shell and get real. This music is timeless, classic and we absolutely love her in L.A. This band is a diamond that has been in the rough, taken it's time to get there, and quite frankly that is the only way. Be thankful they kept the pulse.
