Hailing from the outskirts of D.C., singer/songwriter Katie Arnold has been writing music for the past 18 years. She started out on piano as a child, picked up a guitar in college, and didn't discover the unleashed power of her voice until her early twenties. Being compared to everyone from Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow, to Sixpence and the Cranberries, this up and coming artist is carving out a niche for herself in the indie-acoustic scene of New York City. The places she has lived, the people she has loved, and the lessons learned along the way serve as the platform from which she writes. These passion-filled songs have a fearless, yet graceful way of forcing people to stop and recognize that a life untested is a life unlived.

Five Shades in Motion, Katie's debut album, was recorded in the mountains of Montana with a small group of talented and passionate friends. Layers of piano, strings, percussion and guitar enhance the simplistic beauty of her acoustic songs. Fans of Jewel and Sarah McLachlan will fall in love.
