Katia Cardenal makes a beautiful female interpretation of this classical piece of the folk traditional music of Central and latinamerica, the MISA CAMPESINA, writen by Nicaraguan singer songwriter Carlos Mejia Godoy in the 70,s.
Recorded live in two churches, Iglesia San Francisco, Granada and Volda Kirke in Norway, together with Norwegian Choir SKRUK, and 5 fine musicians from Nicaragua, (marimba, guitars, drums and percussion) this piece is album number 10 for Katia as a soloist.
Katia is the centralamerican female artist witht the more extensive catalog, she got a gold album during her years in Norway, and won 2nd place as a singer in the International Hispanic song contest OTI FESTIVAL in 1990.
She is also part of DUO GUARDABARRANCO, with brother Salvador Cardenal, one of the most famous duos in the Nueva Cancion movement in Latin America, with 10 albums recorded since 1980.
