Album Notes

Singer/songwriter, Kat Nelson, "found her way" from Jamestown, New York to Austin, Texas 25 years ago. As a teenager, Kat played lead & rhythm guitar in a garage band called "The Unknowns", later renamed to "The Inner Light". While on a music scholarship at the University of Kentucky, Kat's primary study was clarinet, with a minor in an array of other instruments. Kat left school to raise a family in Texas, temporarily leaving her musical aspirations aside. About 4 years ago, Kat opened up to her music creativity again to follow her bliss. The seed for "Find Your Way', was planted by Kat's mother. 'My Mom Has Left This Town' is a tribute to her late mother and father. This album was recorded in Austin, Texas, produced by the renowned Paul Pearcy. The featured instrumental artists are Lloyd Maines, Paul Pearcy, Joel Guzman, David Webb, Chip Dolan, Kenny Grimes, Glenn Fukunaga, Glen Kawamoto, & Stefano Intelisano. Kat's music is as diverse as an artist's pallet; feeling, raw, serene, intense and rocking. Many diverse genres are represented in 'Find Your Way' from Jazz to Rock. Kat's vocal styles are equally daunting in expressing the essence of human emotions in her vivid, metaphoric lyrics. 'Find Your Way' is musical food for the soul.
