Album Notes

Both Anderson sisters, Katrine and Margaret, have been singing their native Scottish music for as long as they can remember. Katrine spent much of her time in Edinburgh singing in folk clubs. Since moving to the US she has continued to pursue her musical interestes. After spending many years as a development economist, working mostly on African countries, she left to pursue what has always been her passion: to sing. She issued a CD of classical songs: A Celebration of Song, and has been performing Hebridean and classical songs in US and Canada, as well as in several African countries working with local musicians on integrating Celtic and African music. Her sister, Margaret, spent much of her years in Edinburgh singing and playing Scottish music. She then moved to Oban on the west coast of Scotland where she learnt much of the Gaelic repertoire and on moving to Glasgow, sang with the Glasgow Hebridean choir. Together with her sister, Katrine, she has appeared on local TV singing and playing Scottish songs.

Zan McLeod is one of the most talented accompanists, producers and arrangers of Celtic music. Originally from North Carolina, he co-founded the Irish-American group Touchstone. He runs his own studio, and recently completed work on the award-winning Lost in the Loop by fiddler Liz Carroll. He has appeared on scores of projects, including the Grammy-award winning album: Celtic Solstice with Paul Winter.
