Album Notes

Katrine has been singing her native Scottish music for as long as she can remember. A classically trained soprano, Katrine spent much of her earlier years in Edinburgh, singing Scottish songs in folk clubs, later moving to the US, where she has continued to pursue her musical interests. After spending many years as a development economist, working particularly on African countries, she recently left to devote her time to what has always been her passion: to sing. She has a CD of classical songs: "A Celebration of Song", and a CD: "Ae Fond Kiss" features songs and music of Scotland. Her latest CD: "Songs of Celtic Myths", released in January 2008 is of songs concerned with Celtic myths and mysteries from mermaids to sea-witches. Renowned Celtic musicians, Lily Neill on harp, Zan McLeod, on guitar, and fiddler Bobby Spates accompany her. She has given recitals of both classical and Hebridean music in the UK, US and Canada and has also performed in several African countries, working with local musicians on integrating African and Celtic music
