Album Notes

Katseye is a folk vocal duo from Ann Arbor, Michigan. We have been playing and singing together for more than 15 years. Our vocal blend has always been our signature feature and we do love to sing together. Kathy Wieland is a talented, witty, and thoughtful crafter of songs. Her music often explores the realities of women's lives with intelligence and humor- life happens and its good when you can laugh. She also has an amazing ear for harmony and a crooked spin on other topics and genre's- listen to her tongue in cheek gospel tune on the CD. It was our desire to have her songs heard that started the CD ball rolling. We've recorded songs we really love and that mean something to us. We had so much fun with this project and hope you enjoy it. Let us know and if you like our work, consider adding a review to our site.

The two Kathys have produced a winner!

I'm impressed with the quality of these songs and the amazing vocal blend of the two singers. The tunes are catchy, provocative, and poignant, and the arrangements and use of various instruments imaginative. Recording the autoharp is not easy, but the sound was great on this CD.

In a word: Delightful!

I first heard "There Was Music In My Mother's House" at a concert and wanted (nay, needed!) a copy of it . . . browsed the web and found Katseye's version. I knew from listening to the sample on the website that it was a cut that I wanted. Bought the CD for one song and fell in love with these women! I am hoping that they are working on a second CD. As another reviewer shared, I'm wearing this one out --- but am sharing it with several folks who (hopefully) will be buying their own copy after listening to mine! Even my minister loves the music --- especially "God is up in Heaven!" (but then, there was music in her mother's house, too! ;-)
