Based on a long journey of trials and struggles, BOTEAP Entertainment introduces to you a woman of strong faith, courage, and perseverance. Through the album “I Have Joy”, there is a story that must be told which will impact every listening ear……

This alto first arrived on the gospel scene with her local top chart popping single “He’s So Good To Me” in the spring of 2003, which drew immediate attention from her hometown local radio station WXEZ The New Star 94.1 FM. She was recognized on more than one occasion of being Hampton Roads “Rising Gospel Star” on their weekly Thursday competition.

Her songs have their own indescribable hooks and bridges that match her undefined unique vocals. They will take you on and never-ending journey of worship, which will keep you listening further. The catchy sound is guaranteed to become a positive implant in your spirit.

Karen a native of Norfolk, VA is married with two wonderful children. This lovely multi-talented woman resides in Williamsburg, VA where she spends most of her time singing, writing music, and the rest of her time recording when she’s not being Mommy or Baby. She first began playing the piano by ear when she was about 7 years old. This prompted her mother to enroll her in lessons right away to perfect the natural talent that God had already given her.

From a very young age she did talents shows mimicking songs from artist such as Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, which she normally ranked in first or second place. Music is just a small portion of her gifts and talents. Just to name a few others she’s also a producer & arranger of music, songwriter, Christian comedian, poet of spoken word, actress, and playwright.

"I Have Joy” the current project offered by, this laid back soul-stirring vocalist exhibits pure creation and cross blends of riffs, runs and rhythms with melodic vibes and tones that thrive in the inner strength of her lyrical contents.

“There were so many labor pains during the birthing process of this project” said Jenkins. “I Have Joy” joy joy down in my soul, and His love has made me whole…..”

Beginning with the heartwarming track “Count On God” onto the title track “I Have Joy” to the trusting and believing he will meet your needs “Worship Medley” and ending with
the cheerful “Celebration” there is an abundance of thought provoking messages to God’s truth and way of life for the entire Christian community.

Karen’s project reflects her own personal life’s struggles along with the experiences of those whom closely shares in her life. “This project was thirteen years in the making, she stated. “My prayer was that God would allow me just a small glimpse of his blueprints for my journey, so that I could reach the masses of his people telling my story and how he’s been the best ingredient of my life”. “It only takes one to chase a thousand”….

In order to effectively convey her story, she teamed up with three of VA’s finest producers Omega & Alpha’s T. Morton, Independent producer Darryl Woodson Jr., and KR Music’s Kenneth “Keys” Robinson. Every person brought a different savor to the soundboard along with production efforts by Mrs. Jenkins herself on 4 tracks.

Karen is a natural and has music and production running all through her spirit. She has a heart and love for the youth in her church as well as her community.
