Born in 1976 in Caracas,Venezuela.Son of galician emigrants that returned back to Spain in 1989. Listening to recordings of guitar maestros like Paco de Lucia, Django Reinhardt and Joe Pass, he was captivated by the sounds and rhythms of the recordings, and an overwhelming passion to learn guitar. He was awarded a scholarship from A.I.E(Society of Artist and Performances of Spain) to attend Berklee College of Music.He graduated in 2005 "Magna Cum laude" in professional Music. Michel is a current member of "Equatorial",Alex Alvear' most recently work based on original compositions and arrangements inspired in traditional Ecuadorian music adding jazz, bossa nova, rock and tango elements to create a new approach to Ecuadorian music and "Gregorio Uribe y su Orquesta" 15-piece band that plays Gregorio's original songs as well as his arrangements of Colombian traditional music and Yarina (which means "remembrance"in the native Quichua language of the Incas) has since 1984, been dedicated not only to musical excellence, but also to the preservation and sharing of the beauty, courage and survival of the ancestral traditions and culture of the indigenous peoples of the Andes. Other high lights includes "Boston Latino International Festival", "The Tito Puente Latin Music Series", "Jazz Revelation Records", Opening act "Paquito D' Rivera" and "Tribute to Sheila E". Michel started to perform with International artist such as Mili Bermejo, Oscar Stagnaro, Mark Walker, Martha Gomez, Luisito Quintero among others. Michel's compositions are full of influences from jazz to Latin -American music. His versatility and musicality have allowed him to work in Spain,United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Mexico,Washington and New York City. He recently had recorded with Kaymi,his first jazz trio project "Where the soul is hidden,Latin-American rhythms mix with jazz improvisations and Cool Hamsters,Jazz duo influenced by Gypsy jazz and American swing repertory.
Michel is currently working in his new CD called" Guitar & Company" played with Yarina's Director ;Roberto Cachimuel on Quenas and Zampoñas.
