notes

We have been called one of Southern California's best Rhythm and Blues bands. Soulful, bluesy, music with sophisticated changes and jazzy chords make this a much more interesting band than your average 12 bar blues band! Ken Schoppmeyer on vocals is one of the best soul singers you'll ever hear. All our audiences say we are SO much better live than they ever expected, and THE most fun to watch and dance to! Furthermore, we appeal to ALL ages! From the “20 somethings” to the “70 somethings” audiences love to listen and dance to King Biscuit Revue!

In addition -- We have some features most bands do not have:

• Both MALE AND FEMALE VOCALS – 2 great voices add MUCH more variety and interest

• Professional, hi-energy, SUPER FUN! dance band. Dance clubs hire us because we know what WORKS for dancing!

VARIETY OF MUSIC WE PLAY INCLUDES: RHYTHM AND BLUES, SWING, SOUL, JAZZ, MOTOWN, FUNK, AND BLUES

King Biscuit Revue delivers a professional product that will delight every age group and ethnicity. Our members have played to rave reviews in Europe, Japan, and the UK!

Ken Schoppmeyer - Harmonica / Male Lead Vocals. With a rich, full voice spanning 4 octaves, Ken can stand alone against any vocalist in the West. But then he picks up that harmonica and blows it like nobody’s business! Harmonica books mention him in the same paragraph as Stevie Wonder; Ken recently played a tour of Europe and was treated like a King by Blues Societies and Consul Generals alike! He has over 30 years of experience opening for all the blues greats whose tours stopped in San Diego (Ray Charles, BB King etc) …He is THE best kept secret in Southern California!

Jan Wallace - Female Lead Vocals - with a voice that's a little blues, a little jazz, and a touch of country, she keeps her audiences entertained, both vocally and visually...Sexy sequined costumes - changed every set!

Glenn Frazier - Drummer - This man plays every style.. a monster drummer out of Cleveland who’s been playing since he was 2 years old!... He cut his teeth with Gospel groups; has been featured on TV... World Class Drummer!

Brett Miller - Great New Orleans style keyboard player that fronts his own band when not playing with King Biscuit Revue.

Murray Cohen - Bass / Vocals - Murray is from Pittsburgh and whether its an "old school approach" or an improvisional touch; he is truly gifted at laying down the right bass groove to any blues, swing, funk or jazzy tune...with over 3 1/2 decades of playing he’s got the right bag of tricks!

Michael Halls - Guitar /Vocals – Stellar blues cat from London, England, Michael has played with numerous British and American groups and has recorded with Eric Clapton's band.

Don Carter - Trombone - "...the kind of passion, stage presence and expertise you rarely see on a trombone... he has so much energy and personality on that stage! I was amazed that he could play like that AND dance — what talent!”

Aaron Hudson - Saxophone - a young cat with the style of a Coltrane or Bird...you'll be mesmerized with his chops and soul.
