Album Notes

You're excused... go ahead and punch out. Exhale. Now go home. It's okay. You can leave all that behind you for awhile. There's another place. It's quiet and comfortable because it was designed to be that way. And you can always return to re-acquaint yourself with the person who lives there. Welcome to your living room.

There is no need at the moment to imagine the type of music that might prop you up for an evening in that room, under the afghan on your favorite couch with that satisfying read. We've done it for you. The In My Living Room compilation was recorded in a space much like yours. In it a mood was created and preserved by the individual efforts of visiting indie rockers who knew how and when to turn it down.

In My Living Room is equally divided between ensemble work and solo pieces. Richard Davies (and his band), Ida, and Karate are known entities, while Io is as well if you know their alter ego Cordelia's Dad. Kimchee bands The Television Set (pre-Helms) and 27 make their recorded debuts here. The solo artists have taken a sofa break from the bands Helium, Mistle Thrush, The Secret Stars, Karate, Syrup USA (now disbanded), and Buffalo Tom.

Kimchee Records invites you to remove your shoes (a bow to Korean custom) and curl up with In My Living Room. Cats are optional.
