Album Notes

KC Jiang (江國城) is a San Francisco Bay Area music performer. When he was a kid he taught himself to play harmonica and dreamed of being a street music performer some day. When KC grew up he became an engineer.

KC’s parents moved from China to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War in 1949, and KC was born in Taiwan. He received his undergraduate engineering degree from National Cheng Kung University (國立成功大學) in Taiwan and graduate school engineering degrees from Tennessee Tech University and Stanford University in the US.

A couple of years ago, KC revived his childhood dream. He tours the San Francisco Bay Area venues playing Celtic favorites, American folk songs, Chinese melodies, children songs and classical music on Irish whistle, tremolo harmonica and other instruments.

“Irish Whistle Melodies” is KC’s second CD and she is the sister CD of “Irish Melodies for Tremolo Harmonica” released in early 2009. Four Irish whistles were used for the recording, they are D whistle, Bb whistle, low A whistle and low G whistle. All those four whistles were made by the world renowned whistle maker Mr. Patrick O’Riordan.

KC believes engineering is the art of science and music is the art of soul. KC has been wandering in the two worlds, engineering and music performing, and is enjoying both of them.
