Album Notes

Kevin Christopher Teasley, at age 30, is one of the most dynamic and personable figures in today's musical environment. He is a jazz pianist, keyboardist, songwriter/producer, composer and educator. Kevin studied jazz piano and composition at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, as well as, being a Ronald E. McNair Scholar. He has performed domestically and internationally with various artists and under his own name as leader.

His international performances include: France; Switzerland; Austria; Germany; Italy; Jamaica; The Virgin and Cayman Islands; Puerto Rico; Mexico; Honduras; and the JVC Jazz Festival in London, England with Plunky and the Oneness of JuJu.

Kevin also performed and served as ghostwriter for national television for the FOX television sit-com "Living Single" with Stu Gardner and was the 1993 recipient of the Michael Jackson Scholarship Award. Kevin is also a two-time recipient of the Virginia Commission for the Arts tour support grant which awarded him funds to perform concerts throughout his home state of Virginia. Kevin is an adjunct faculty member at his alma mater, Virginia Union University, where he teaches jazz theory, jazz improvisation, jazz piano and jazz band. He loaned his talents as a studio musician again with Stu Gardner for the Nickelodeon cartoon "Little Bill," by the legendary comedian, Bill Cosby.

Kevin currently serves as the keyboardist and musical director of the legendary R&B vocal group, "The Main Ingredient," as well as, producing several tracks on the CD, "Pure Magic." He recently scored original music for national commercials and radio spots for SAAB Cars and Advance Auto Parts, in addition to the many others for local and regional commercials and films. Kevin also recently completed a national tour of the New York City musical play entitled, "Unforgettable," about the life and times of legendary jazz singer and pianist, Nat "King" Cole. During the summer of 2001 he served as artist-in-residence at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in the British Virgin Islands on the island of Tortola, as well as, performing concerts across The Netherlands. Kevin is now back in Tortola as a senior lecturer in music and touring his debut cd on Name Brand Records entitled, "Documentary."

The CD is great!!It's soothing and the music takes you on a journey of many experiences.It's playful then romantic,,then serious,,then soulful. It's a multifacted mix of jazz at best. I recommend this CD as one to add to any collection.
