Album Notes

Delving into the Blues, the roots of Jazz and Rock and Roll, Kid Dutch and his Blusicians™ plays Blues and R & B, Jump, Jive, Swing, Ballads, Boogie Woogie, Big Band, and roots Rock and Roll.

The music of Louis Jordan, Smiley Lewis, Fats Waller, Slim Gaillard, Cab Calloway, Fats Domino, and B.B. King, among many others, is featured, along with a selection of original tunes by Kid Dutch himself.

Formed in 1995, this upbeat, 6 piece acoustic group features saxes, brasses, guitar, acoustic bass, and drums played by a seasoned team of high-energy musicians.

"Kid Dutch is steeped in jazz and blues history and is a font of knowledge regarding composers, styles and attributions. Above and beyond the scholarship, he is able to transcend the jazz tradition and create and perform vivid, exuberant and vivacious crowd pleasers.

In the manner that audiences did not relate to Louis Armstrong, Dizzie Gillespie or Count Basie as merely jazz performers, Kid Dutch has an evocative and abundant repertoire that dazzles and amuses listeners swept up into the flowing rhythms and sonorous sounds." - Dr. Ken Rabac, WUCF-FM

You just can't listen to this album and stay in a bad mood! Or keep from moving! My copy is autographed, because I bought it off the bandstand, and the album sounds just like the band does LIVE - full of zest and humor and pizza and beer! I love these bad boys and their "ain't nothin' but a party" attitude. They swing it hard. Listen to the sound bites and hear for yourself! You'll be grinning and tapping your feet!
