Album Notes

When I was twelve, I started my first band with my pal Robby. We listened to the Beatles, and wanted to be John Lennon and Paul McCartney. I've been in some bands since, mostly playing loud rock 'n roll. It took a long time for me to appreciate the old timey music I grew up with in West Virginia, but I came around, and started mixing that up with the pop music I loved. When I moved to Portland, I got a job at the Portland Children's Museum, where I started playing music for kids and their families. You can catch me there every Wednesday at ten o'clock and twelve o'clock. I have two albums of folk rock and roll for the whole family called Elephants Over the Fence, and Long John. When I'm not playing for kids and their adults, I play in a rock band called Yoyodyne , as well as helping other folks make their own records. I'm available for bookings in the Pacific Northwest, so if you're having a party and need some music for the whole crew, from baby to grandpa, drop me a line! Feel free to email me at johnnykeener@hotmail.com.
