Keith Dunn is an award-winning songwriter, producer, harmonica player and singer. He has more than three decades of professional experience in concert halls and on festival stages around the world. Buy this CD and what do you get? Keith explains, "On the "Keith Dunn Collection" (DeeTone Records-5503) I play songs in a variety of styles; rockin' blues, soul, low-down blues, love songs, and with different formations." There is the Keith Dunn Band formation with the unique line-up of two guitars and drums, piano/harmonica duo, solo, even drums/harmonica duo. Keith sometimes uses all of these formations at special concerts but here you have them all on one CD.
Keith continues, "Whether in Memphis or in Moscow, when we play the first note of "Baby Ride With Me" they fill the dance floor. "Can't Let You Go" surprises our fans, a real love song. "Wish You Would" was written by a friend and long-time inspiration, Billy Boy Arnold. In our arrangement it's dark, moody and has plenty of Fender vibrato.." "Need To Make A Dollar" a topical song that brought Keith another song writing award, is played solo, just voice and harmonica.
Chris Rannenberg's boogie-woogie piano playing shines on "Hoy, Hoy, Hoy" a piano/harmonica duo tour de force. "Steal Away" is a classic southern soul ballad and remains one of Keith Dunn's most requested songs. He explains the band instrumental, "I wanted to warm up my Vibro-Champ amplifier. I played the theme from Little Walter's "Off The Wall," then went on for four minutes. Not a note-for-note reading, but my own version." The "Keith Dunn Collection" are for you. Listen and enjoy.
