Album Notes

Veteran Jamaican Reggae singer Keith Poppin is proud to release 'Get Together' – a collection of some of his greatest roots Reggae tunes, along with many hard to find 7” singles, all recorded during one of Reggae's most crucial decades, 1970-'79.

Aside from Keith's distinctive vocals and thoughtful lyrics, this CD also features some of Reggae's most talented musicians - including Robbie Shakespear, Sly Dunbar, Aston 'Family Man' Barret, Carlton Barret, Earl 'Chinna' Smith, Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace and Ansel Collins. 'Get Together' was recorded at several of Jamaica's most historic studios such as Studio One, Randy's, Harry J's, Channel One and Treasure Isle.

Most of the songs have never appeared on CD before. Each track has been professionally remastered with loving care to enhance the quality of the original recordings.

If you're not familiar with Keith Poppin's music the sound samples provided will give you a chance to hear his music in it's pristine original form.

Informative liner notes by Beat magazine columnist Chuck Foster can be found in the CD's booklet along with previously unpublished photos of Keith, rounded-off by a complete list of musicians and recording engineers that helped create these great songs during what many consider Reggae's 'golden era' (1970-'79).

Get Together

This a very good album. Keith Poppin has been a favourite of mine for years. It's great to here some of the old classics like 'Who are you' and 'Righteous man' again. However, how about re-releasing Keith's classic album 'Pop in' again. Every track on that is classic.

Never released material!

The material on this cd has been remastered from the best source material and sounds better than ever. The majority of these tracks have never been released on an album, much less on a digitally enhanced cd. This is basically a 'greatest hits' compilation and the depth is incredible. Rare stuff!

This is a great collection of Keith Poppin's early works and 70s roots killers. The sound quality is excellent and a lot of effort has been put into the CD overall. Thanks to John for the tip on this CD! Buy with confidence!
