No Hype...This is REAL stuff
author: Alexis Green
On first listen "Trips" is a modern R&B collection of tunes that state the obvious: Girl I want You, Girl I Need You and Girl I Wanna F*&k You. This is great more radio friendly R Kelly/ Genuwine stuff. Actually I'm wrong, Trips Through My Mental is a seminal piece of work from a music powerhouse that captures emotion, energy, pain, regret and finally redemption. Keith Wolfe is taking us on more than just a journey through what he thinks; he has genuinely captured our feelings, emotions and shortcomings as well. Bling is a powerhouse that not only attempts to discourage young people tying up all their money is "here today gone tomorrow" material things, it attempts to do so in a very street credible way. Remember isn't just an attempt to capture crossover appeal it's a plea to a woman to remember when things were good when things are bad. The lead single "Baby Girl" is just a monster. A killer melody, a killer rhythm and a killer hook. Arguably the albums best track. Not to be missed are hidden gems like "So Excited" and "Im a Black Man". If you want R Kelly buy R Kelly. If you want something in my opinion more substantial, a seminal piece of work from a young man with loads of talent, then this is the CD for you.
