Homegrown Music Listings for October 2007

Kelly has a new CD, which she brought a demo copy of to Small World Music, and we think she is probably the best and most entertaining guitarist in Ithaca. She does original material, largely influenced by flamenco, and plays covers you will know, which are artfully chosen and rendered.

Kelly Birtch is a guitarist and composer from New York. She can play loud, she can play soft, she plays and writes very well, and she sounds different from most music in Ithaca.

Kelly plays some amazing guitar. In addition to her expertise with the electric guitar, Kelly is skillful and dexterous at both flat-picking and finger - picking on the acoustic guitar, most interestingly adding Spanish, and classical styles to the mix.

Excellent guitarist will wow you with her original music performed in several different styles.
Last time Kelly was here was the first time, and she filled a crowded room with great solo guitar work. Kelly is well-versed in many different styles of guitar playing and you will be wowed by the breadth, the strength and the variety of her performance. We are more than a little pleased to have this lady grace our stage once again! Come on out and hear this guitar virtuoso in action!

Hello! Heard Ms. Birtch playing guitar at the Lung Cancer Awareness 5K run in Binghamton on 21 September this year. Although my music tastes run to classical and traditional jazz, I was blown away by her talent and musicality on solo guitar. Asked for her card and ordered the CD. Enjoyed it!
