But make no mistake, this album may be less volumatic but it possesses the same raw signature sound of Kelly's Lot written over every single track. Kelly puts her heart and soul into the songs she sings and in this CD her talent in a live show shines. He "talk sing" as only Kelly can do carries the message of the songs and then she alternates with a raspy delivery. Perry Robertson's guitar licks are tasty and well formed. The trio is extremely tight and the audience response clearly shows it was one of those magical performances. Live CDs are not my favorite, with the exception of videos of concerts (some DVD releases of concerts are good and even those I pick and choose), I avoid them -- but this one is an exception. Usually the acoustics are wanting and the energy of the show does not translate onto the disc. But this one, you feel as if you are there. Excellent. Read more...
