Album Notes

The Machias Community Church has been the center of our spiritual lives since my family and I moved to the Everett, Washington area in 1978. When it came time to put together this, my first solo recording, it seemed appropriate to fill it with songs of faith.

-Ken Ainsworth,
April, 2000

************

Ken Ainsworth, folk-rock musician, singer and songwriter, has been performing professionally for over 30 years. In addition to his solo act, he has appeared with with the rock band Mystic Procession, the contemporary folk group Night Whale and the The Rondos, playing classic Rock 'n' Roll. On Sunday mornings, he can be found leading music at the Machias Community Church in Machias, Washington.

Over the years, Ainsworth has written over 200 songs, a number of which appear on recordings by Night Whale. His most recent efforts, the CDs "Machias Morning" and "There's Only One", consist of songs written about his Christian faith.

Ainsworth's style is best described as a blend of folk-revivalist lyricism laced with a harder edge tooled from his rock 'n' roll experience. He is an energetic and personable performer, but is most satisfied with writing and recording new songs, which he does in his Everett, Washington studio.

It is Ken's life.
author: Ted Noble
Hard not to write about the artist. These songs are about Ken and what his life is all about. Knowing Ken, I know these songs on this album come from the very core of what life means to Ken and that is what makes it so special for me when I listen to this CD. If and when I get back to Washington agian, I 'm hoping Ken and his family will allow me to attend church in Machias with them.

Pretty good for an old guy
author:
I think this guy used to be my teacher! He taught Algebra and I got a D. He was a good guy, though. I didn't know he wrote and played music. I listened to his CD, and really liked it. It's not what you usually think of when you think of Christian music, but you can really tell Ainsworth loves Jesus. It's a good CD and worth more than I paid for it. I got it cheap from my aunt (ha ha!) If you're looking for some nice listening Christian music, you should really buy this record. It's good.
